Christina Bartlett

I have a Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice and a Minor in Sociology from the University of Wyoming and have been an associate with Haven since January 2024.

I came to know Christ as my Lord and Savior at the age of three. From then on, my mother and I always attended church together. My father, on the other hand, is not a believer, so he never attended church with us (unless it was a Christmas performance or some performance I was in for church). When I was in 9th grade, I had to take biology. I was nervous about this because of the topic of evolution. The church I attended at the time had these videos on evolution and how to use apologetics from a creationist perspective. I watched and rewatched those videos and became very passionate about creation and how science proves God exists.

In the summer of 2014, I went to a competition in Gunnison, CO. There was a scenario where people were lying around in a circle, and there was a pile of water bottles. I had no clue what was going on. I walked over to someone who is extremely dear to me, and asked them, “Do you know what is going on?”. They said, “Yeah, I know what’s going on.” I then said, “Well, what is it?” and they said, “It’s Waco”. I just said, “Waco?” “Yeah, it's Waco.” I ended the conversation saying, “Oh okay.” I didn’t admit to them that I had no clue what Waco was. So, when I got home, I researched Waco and found out the scenario was based on Jim Jones. Due to that circumstance, I started on a journey researching cults and extreme beliefs, but didn’t have anywhere to put this knowledge to use.

Being a part of Haven has been a blessing because I have been able to put this knowledge to use. Through talking with people and ministering the gospel, I have put my investigation skills to use as well and enjoy researching the truth of what the gospel says and what others are saying.
Check out my blog, The JC Files, where I document conversations and seminars I have attended. Exposing what the Bible says and what different religious groups are saying.
